چکیده

An experiment was conducted at College Farm, of Agriculture, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad during rabi 2020-21 on loamy sand soils to study energy balance weed management practices in mustard. The studies were determined by using direct and indirect energy. Among the different practices, Stomp 30 % EC as PE fb straw mulch 5 t ha-1 recorded higher input. This treatment followed Goal 23.5 Raft 6 ha-1. Maximum output, net energy, use efficiency productivity noticed under intercultivation hand weeding 15 DAS it statistically par with DAS, DAS.

In-vitro fermentation characteristics and methane reduction potential of mustard cake (Brassica juncea L.)

AIM To assess the effect of mustard cake (Brassica juncea L.) levels in concentrate mixtures and in composite feed mixtures (CFMs) on in-vitro fermentation characteristics and methane production. MATERIALS AND METHODS Five concentrate mixtures were prepared with containing 30% oil cake, where linseed cake was replaced by mustard cake at the rate of 0%, 7.5%, 15.0%, 22.5%, and 30% in concentra...

Thermal and pressure stability of myrosinase enzymes from black mustard (Brassica nigra L. W.D.J. Koch. var. nigra), brown mustard (Brassica juncea L. Czern. var. juncea) and yellow mustard (Sinapsis alba L. subsp. maire) seeds.

This study investigates the effects of temperature and pressure on inactivation of myrosinase extracted from black, brown and yellow mustard seeds. Brown mustard had higher myrosinase activity (2.75 un/mL) than black (1.50 un/mL) and yellow mustard (0.63 un/mL). The extent of enzyme inactivation increased with pressure (600-800 MPa) and temperature (30-70° C) for all the mustard seeds. However,...

ASSESSING APHID INFESTATION IN INDIAN MUSTARD (Brassica juncea L.) UNDER PRESENT AND FUTURE CLIMATE SCENARIOS

Mustard (Brassica juncea L.) production in India suffers from aphid, Lipaphis erysimi (Kaltenbach), infestation considerably. Role of weather on the incidence and development of mustard aphids was assessed from experimental data from six north Indian locations. Aphid appearance and population build up was found to be regulated by temperature and time to attain peak population was relatively sho...

Variability of Fatty Acid Composition in Interspecific Hybrids of Mustard Brassica Juncea and Brassica Napus

In Sri Lanka, mustard (Brassica juncea) is cultivated as a subsidiary crop for the seeds used as a condiment in cooking. In the Indian sub-continent, however, it is an important oilseed crop used as a source of vegetable oil. Mustard has over 45% erucic acid (C22:1) which is unsuitable nutritionally for human consumption. The Brassica oilseed species, B. napus and B. campestris, were developed ...

Growth response modulation by putrescine in Indian mustard Brassica juncea L. under multiple stress.

Plants, in general, are put to various kinds of stress, biotic and abiotic, both natural and manmade. Infestation by insect pests and diseases, and extreme conditions such as salinity, temperature, etc., as well as heavy metal contamination affect their growth performance. Here, we studied the impact of salinity and heavy metal pollution on the growth performance of Indian Mustard Brassica junc...
